Field Replaceable Unit Disassembly/Assembly
Drum assembly
1.
Turn off the printer and remove the power cord.
2.
Remove the right-side and left-side panels and the top and front
panels, as explained in the earlier topic, “Cabinet panels and covers”
on page 8-4.
3.
Remove the drum maintenance tray. Leave the front door open.
4.
Remove the media width sensor assembly as described in the earlier
procedure “Media width sensor assembly” on page 8-18.
5.
Remove the paper preheater as discussed in the earlier topic “Paper
preheater” on page 8-21.
6.
Remove the transfix roller and pressure springs as described in the
previous procedure “Transfix pressure springs and transfix roller” on
page 8-26.
7.
Left side.
Free the wiring harness leading from the drum assembly
along the left side of the print engine to the power control board.
Remove the access plate so you can disconnect the wiring harness
from J14 and J17 of the power control board (the two upper
connectors).
8.
Remove the drum position sensor assembly. If necessary, refer to the
previous procedure, “Drum position sensor assembly” on page 8-23.
9.
Remove the drum position sensor assembly bracket from the left side
of the printer frame. It is held in place by two screws.
10.
Remove the process drive belt tensioner and the process drive belt.
11.
Loosen the compound gear position sensor.
12.
Remove the E-clip securing the compound gear in place. Then
remove the gear.
13.
Remove the left-side exit cover spring assembly. It is held in place
with two screws.
14.
Remove the media width sensor drive motor. It is held in place by
two screws, the lower-left and upper-right screws on the motor body.
15.
Remove the drum temperature sensor. It is attached to the left printer
frame by one screw.
