Field Replaceable Unit Disassembly/Assembly
Head tilt cam gear
1. Turn off the printer and remove the power cord.
2. Open the top cover.
3.
Remove the left-side cover.
4. Ensure the printhead is in it tilt-back locked position.
5. Disconnect the wiring harnesses leading to I/O board 1.
6. Remove I/O board 1 as detailed in the procedure “I/O board 1” on
page 8-64.
7. Remove the E-clip securing the head tilt cam gear to the its printer
frame shaft. Remove the cam gear.
Reverse these steps to install the tilt cam gear. Be sure to position the new tilt
cam gear on its shaft so that the cam follower of the tilt arm engages the groove
on the backside of the tilt cam gear.
