C-MAP chart licenses
C-MAP licenses are paid in three different options: Direct, Dynamic (Pay-Per-View) or
OpenENC (Pay-As-You-Sail). C-MAP ENCs are converted into DNV approved SENC format
which prevents a time-consuming and risky data conversion on board.
ECDIS900 version can use C-MAP ENC+ service which can be supplemented with the C-MAP
Profe global chart database. If several ECDIS use C-MAP on board, several permits are
required (one assigned ENC permit number and one assigned e-Token per ECDIS device)
even the user has only to pay for one C-MAP license. When the installed C-MAP database is
updated or a new version of the database is reinstalled, the permits are still valid and can be
used with the new version of the C-MAP database.
For comprehensive details on licensing and updating chart database, please refer to the
brand licensing page: http://commercialmarine.c-map.com/en/licensing-and-updating/c-

eToken USB device
eToken is a dongle that is inserted in the USB port of the ECDIS device. eToken contains
unique information that provides an additional functionality to the ECDIS system. Each ECDIS
device running with C-MAP chart database is assigned to a separate eToken device with a
unique eToken key.
An eToken key is a short number used to identify the system which is written on a small tag
attached to the eToken USB device. A license made for a particular eToken will work only in
combination with the particular key which it is made for.
Ú
Note:
It is mandatory that the eToken USB device should not be removed from the
ECDIS computer before or after the installation of the C-MAP chart database.
Ú
Note:
NAVICO is not responsible for replacing the chart permits and other contents of
the eToken. Please insure dongle and all chart permits against theft, loss or damage.
