The user interface

The main window

The main window is divided into predefined areas as shown in the figure below.

Chart area

Toolbar panel

Window title

Console area

Window title

The window title is a section on top of the main window which displays the name of the
application.

When ECDIS mode is active, the name of the currently used chart database will be displayed
(Example: S57 HO ENC, RCDS or CMAP)

When S57 ENC or C-MAP chart is active, the following information will be shown in the title
bar:

•

Type of layer display

•

Currently used datum

•

Type of projection

•

Type of ECDIS workstation

When raster chart is active, the following information will be shown in the title bar:

•

Name of the active chart

•

Chart number

•

Datum of the chart

•

Datum shift with WGS84

•

Type of ECDIS workstation

Note:

A battery charge indicator will be displayed in the title bar if ECDIS is installed in a

laptop.
