Acceptable range for Turning radius can be modified in
TCS options
dialog. To open the
dialog, right click on the Autopilot console and select TCS options. Set Maximum radius and
Minimum radius values for a turning radius.
Rate of Turn (ROT) can be also changed manually in Route planning. See
Route checking in ENC chart mode
When activated, the route is automatically checked against the dangers of the ENC database
including manually updated objects and user defined dangers. If any leg is dangerous, the
dangers are listed in the Route checking window and highlighted on the chart.
Route monitoring
When a route is activated, route monitoring is automatically switched on. The ECDIS900
continuously calculates and displays data about the vessel's approach to the active waypoint
(see
on page 120), ETA to the selected waypoint (see
on page 123), and, on request, the calculated speed to sail to reach a particular
waypoint at the fixed ETA (see
The ECDIS triggers alerts for waypoint arrival or XTD out of limits (see
Ú
Note:
The Wheel over Point (WOP) is calculated according to the turning radius value
entered by the navigator. It is extremely important to enter this value during route
planning.
To select an active waypoint manually, right click on the chosen waypoint on the chart or
select the waypoint in the route monitoring plan.
Alerts
When the XTD or Waypoint arrival alerts are active the ECDIS900 will trigger an alert each
time the alert parameters are met. A route alert can be classified as alarm or as indication. The
type depends on user settings.
Setting route alerts parameters

Route monitoring plan
When the active route is locked it cannot be edited. You can only change the planned speed
for the remaining legs.
The active waypoint line is displayed in red, the selected waypoint line in blue.
To modify the route it is necessary to deactivate the route and then unlock it before editing.
