Targets

Setting a target

To plot a manual target, click on the

Set target

icon.

For more details about manual targets, see

"Manual target"

on page 128.

Target list

To display the target list, click on

Target list

button.

•

Double-click on the target name to center the chart on the target.

•

Click on the title to sort out the targets.

ECDIS900 acquires target via serial line from AIS transponder and ARPA radar connected to
the system or using MARIS radar interface kit. Refer to

"Target display"

on page 127 for more

details.

Show and hide targets

Click the

Hide target

button to hide the targets. All targets are hidden except the target on

CPA/TCPA alarms which are displayed anyway.

You can also use the

shortcut key to show and hide targets.

Relative vector

Click the

Draw relative vector

button to display the targets with relative vector. A relative

vector is displayed in dotted line to distinguish from an absolute vector.

True vectors are displayed in solid lines.

Press the

key to switch between True vector to Relative vector.

AIS message, start and stop AIS server

The system allows sending and receiving short messages to/from another AIS. Click the

AIS

messages...

button to display the

AIS messaging

dialog.

Customize table

Click

Customize table

to display the

Customize target table

dialog and select the items

you want to display.

Target prediction

To predict the position of the ship and any ARPA targets, click the

Target prediction

icon.

To display the ship and target positions according to their current course and speed, scroll
the slider to the desired point of time (in minutes).
