Tick on/off the
Enable Dead Reckoning
to enable/disable Dead Reckoning option.
When the Dead Reckoning mode is enabled, a warning similar below is displayed:

Note:
In the D.R. mode, the ship’s position is calculated from the last position the system
acquired from the GPS and from the current values of heading and speed. When the
heading and speed values are no longer available, the D.R. mode will not be available
and ECDIS switches to Simulation mode. When the D.R mode is active, the

values can be adjusted at any time on top of the page.
Simulation mode
The
Simulation
checkbox must be ticked on before heading and speed can be changed.
Adjust the heading, STW, drift speed and the direction by entering new values using the
keyboard or by clicking the arrow up/down.
The values added are used to calculate the COG and SOG.

Note:
In simulation mode the ship icon is displayed with a red cross and the ship
position is not displayed in the position panel.
Managing track recordings
Click the
Track
tab to display the Track dialog.
