4.5 Connecting the interface module to a CM IM DP Direct connection module

ET 200pro distributed I/O system
Operating Instructions, 03/2013, A5E00335544-08

Insulate the PROFIBUS DP cables using heat-shrink tubing

Cut the piece of heat-shrink tubing included in the CM IM DP Direct package into half.

Slide it onto the PROFIBUS Hybrid cable; approximately 7.5

mm of the shielding braid

should remain visible.

Shrink the tubing (using a hot-air gun, for example) until it firmly encloses the

PROFIBUS DP cables.

Note
Distribute the heat of your heat source in even movements. Avoid any punctual

overheating of the heat-shrink tubing.
