General rules and regulations for operating the ET 200pro
Introduction
When operating the ET 200pro distributed I/O system as part of a plant or system, special
rules and regulations have to be followed depending on the field of application.
This chapter provides an overview of the most important rules you must observe when
integrating the ET 200pro distributed I/O system into a plant or system.
Specific application
Note the safety and accident prevention regulations that apply to specific applications
(for example, machine protection guidelines).
EMERGENCY-STOP equipment
Emergency-stop devices as defined in IEC 204 (corresponds to DIN VDE 113) must remain
effective in all operating modes of the plant or system.
System start-up after specific events
The following table identifies situations you must pay attention to when the system starts up
after the occurrence of certain events.
If there is ...
then ...
a restart following a voltage dip or power
failure,
startup of the ET 200pro after an
interruption of bus communication,
dangerous operating states must not occur. If
necessary, force an emergency stop!
startup after unlocking of the emergency
stop device,
an uncontrolled or undefined start-up must not occur.
