3. DESCRIPRION OR TESTING
WARNING

Befo re working on a ny compo nent of the electrical system, the negative (-) battery cab le
should be disconnected from the battery, as electrical shock or damag e to system components
ma y occur. Some testing requires 12-volt power; care sho uld be taken in cases where p ower is
need ed.

BATTERY
Ch ecking th e Battery Electroly te Level
NOTE
:
Check th e battery electro lyte l evel
after every 50 hours of operation .
WARNING:
Always check the battery electrolyte level
with the tractor eng ine stopped, as a n
explosive gas is prod uced insid e the battery
when the alternator is charging the battery.
Do not use a n exposed fla me and do not
smok e when checking the battery electrolyt e
level.
2) FUSIBLE LINK
A fusible link wire is used to protect th e
entire tracto r's electrical sy stem. If too much
current (amp erag e) p asses through th e
fusible link, the fusib le li nk will melt. When
the fusible li nk melts, electrical current is no
longer able to p ass through the tractor's
electrical sy stem, pro tecting the sy stem from
damage.
The fusible l ink w ire is a sho rt red wire that
is bolted to the po sitive (+) termin al of th e
starter, conn ecting to a connector that links
into the mai n wiring h arness.

20 Amp s at 20 ℃
15 Amp s at 69
℃
CAUTION:
Alwa ys rep lace th e fusible lin k with one that
is rated for the same a mperage (Part
#SBA385603370). DO NO T increase
amp erag e rating.
