BRAKE SWITCH RELAY (385230290)
1. Using an ohmmeter, connect test probes to
terminals “C” and “D” on the relay. Observe
the ohmmeter reading.
2.
There should be little or no resistance
between the terminals indicates that there is
continuity and that the relay is functioning
properly when non-energized. If there is no
continuity, the relay is defective and needs
replaced.
3.
To test the relay when energized, use jumper
wires to connect a 12-volt power supply to
terminals “A” and “B” on the relay.
4.
Touch ohmmeter test probes to the terminals
“C” and “D” on the relay and observe the
ohmmeter. There is no continuity between the
terminals indicates that the relay is
functioning properly. If there is continuity,
between the terminals, the relay is defective
and needs replaced.
DIODE
1. Using an ohmmeter, connect positive test probe
to terminal “B” and connect the other test
probe to terminal “A” on the diode. Observe
the ohmmeter reading.
2. There should be little or no resistance between
the terminals indicates that there is continuity
and that the diode is functioning properly. If
there is no continuity, the diode is defective
and needs replaced.
3. Using an ohmmeter, connect positive test probe
to terminal “D” and connect the other test
probe to terminal “C” on the diode. Observe
the ohmmeter reading.
4. There should be little or no resistance between
the terminals indicates that there is continuity
and that the diode is functioning properly. If
there is no continuity, the diode is defective
and needs replaced.
