Fuel Ga uge Testing
1. Disconnect the instrument panel
connector from the main wiring harness.
2. U sing an ohmmeter, tou ch on e test prob e
to th e “+” terminal, 1, of th e fu el gauge
and tou ch th e o th er test probe to the “-”
terminal, 2, of th e fuel gaug e.
3. O bs erve the ohmmeter. Th e measured
resistance sh ould be about 88 ohms. If
resistance is not this sp ecification , th e
gauge is defective and the instrument
panel needs rep laced.
4. Using an ohmmeter, tou ch on e test prob e
to the “+” termin al of the fuel gauge
and touch the other test prob e to the
“U” ter minal of th e fu el gauge.
5. O bs erve the ohmmeter. Th e measured
resistance sh ould be about 72 ohms. If
resistance is not this sp ecification , th e
gauge is defective and the instrument
panel needs rep laced.
Temperature Gauge Testing
1. Disconnect the instrument panel
connector from the main wiring harness.
2. U sing an ohmmeter, tou ch on e test prob e
to the “+” terminal, 1, of the
temp erature gauge and touch th e other
test prob e to the “-” t erminal, 2 , of th e
temp erature gauge.
3. O bs erve the ohmmeter. Th e measured
resistance sh ould be about 88 ohms. If
resistance is not this sp ecification , th e
gauge is defective and the instrument
panel needs rep laced.
4. U sing an ohmmeter, tou ch on e test prob e
to the “+” terminal, 3, of the
temp erature gauge and touch th e other
test probe to th e “U” termin al, 3 , of th e
temp erature gauge.
5. O bs erve the ohmmeter. Th e measured
resistance sh ould be about 77 ohms. If
resistance is not this sp ecification , th e
gauge is defective and the instrument
panel needs rep laced.
Instrument Panel Installa tion
Install th e in strument panel gen erally
follows th e disassembly pro cedure in
reverse.
