NOTE: The cruise control switch indicator light is
not serviceable and cannot be replaced. If the light is
defective, the cruise control switch must be replaced.
9)
To test the internal light bulb for the switch,
touch an ohmmeter test prove to terminal 7
and the other ohmmeter test probe to
terminal 8 of the cruise control switch.
Observe the ohmmeter. The ohmmeter
should show between 18 and 22 ohms of
resistance. If resistance is not within
specifications, the switch light is defective
and the switch needs replaced.
CRUISE LATCH RELAY (385230300)
1)
Using an ohmmeter, connect test probes to
terminals “C” and “D” on the relay.
Observe the ohmmeter reading.
2)
There should be high resistance between
terminals “C” and “D”, indicting no
continuity and that the relay is functioning
properly when non-energized. If there is
continuity, the relay is defective and needs
replaced.
3)
To test the relay when energized, use
jumper wires to connect a 12-volt power
supply to terminals “A” and “B” on the
relay.
4)
Touch ohmmeter test probes to the
terminals “C” and “D” on the relay and
observe the ohmmeter. Little or no
resistance between the terminals indicates
that there is continuity and that the relay is
functioning properly. If there is no
continuity, between the terminals, the relay
is defective and needs replaced.
