Condition Possible cause Remedy
5. Too slow of HST pedal
return speed
1. Damaged bush of swash plate Replace bush.
2. Damaged shaft of swash plate or place the
foreign matter.
Replace swash plate or cleaning.
6. Abnormal sound from HST
1. Air is mixed in the HST oil.
Inspect the suction line and oil level of
transmission (need air breeze form in
the HST)
2. Lack of HST oil for clogged oil filter or
strainer..
Replace oil filter or strainer.
3. Lack of discharge oil from charge pump
by abnormal oil temperature.
At too cold : warming up
At too hot : stop engine and restart
after cold.
4. Control link system is unscrewed or
abrasion.
Adjust or repair the link system.
5. Damaged internal main parts of HST or
coupling of input shaft or out put shaft.
Replace all transmission oil and change
to new HST assembly.
(2) HST cruise control system troubleshooting

Does not work HST cruise
control
1. Defective the cruise control switch Replace the switch
2. Defective cruise control magnet Replace the magnet
3. Defective cruise latch relay Replace the cruise latch relay
4. Defective brake switch relay Replace the brake switch relay
5. Defective the brake switches Replace the brake switches
6. Defective the diode Replace the diode
7. Depressed both brake pedals The brake pedals return to free position
8. Defective 5-amp fuse Replace the fuse
9. Opened or shorted the cruise control
wiring
Repair the wiring
Could not off the HST cruise
control
1. Defective the cruise control switch Replace the switch
2. Defective cruise latch relay Replace the cruise latch relay
3. Defective brake switch relay Replace the brake switch relay
4. Defective the brake switches Replace the brake switches
5. Defective mechanical system for HST
speed control
Repair the mechanical system for HST
speed control
