Tailstock Position Adjustment (ZL-253)
The tailstock position adjustment function is made valid or
invalid on the OPERATION PANEL screen, which is
displayed by pressing the function selection key
(SETTING).

Usually, "INVALID" is set.

With ZL-153 and 203, "NOT USED" is
displayed at No. 10 position.

With ZL-253, the tailstock joint position is set using a parameter. If the tailstock connection is
impossible at the set joint position due to some reasons, axis movement becomes impossible.
The tailstock position adjustment function is used to allow axis movement to connect the tailstock
under the condition that the tailstock joint is impossible at the preset tailstock joint position.

<When the tailstock position adjustment function is valid>
When the tailstock position adjustment function is valid, axis movement is enabled even if the
tailstock joint position is not stored to memory. It is also possible to extend the joint pin at
positions other than the tailstock joint position.
If "VALID" is set for TLSTCK POS. ADJ., interlocks related with axis movement are all
cancelled.
Therefore, move an axis very carefully. If an axis is moved carelessly, the tailstock
might be hit against the turret causing damage to the machine.
When the tailstock is connected to the saddle, the setting for TLSTCK POS. ADJ. is
automatically returned from "VALID" to "INVALID".

Axis movement is not permitted if the tailstock cannot be connected to the saddle at the set
position.
