MACHINING DIFFERENT WORKPIECES WITHOUT CHANGING
TOOLING
When machining different workpieces without changing the tooling, simply shift the workpiece zero
point to set the coordinate system.
The distance to be shifted can be calculated from the difference between the previous and present
reference surfaces by following the operations indicated below.
1)
Place the DOOR INTERLOCK key-switch in the
NORMAL
position.
2)
Clamp a workpiece in the chuck.
3)
Close the front door.
4)
Place the PANEL key-switch in one of the positions
indicated below.
(ON)
(PANEL/EDIT)
5)
Press the HEAD CHANGE switch
(head 1) or
(head 2) to select the required turret.
6)
Retract the turret to the position where the cutting
tool will not interfere with the workpiece when the
turret head is rotated.
7)
Display the PROGRAM (MDI) screen.
a)
Select the MDI mode (
) with the MODE
selection switch.
b)
Press the function selection key
(PROG).
The PROGRAM (MDI) screen is displayed.
