4.6.6 Master Comms Diagnostics
This menu item is concerned only with Master comms diagnostics, and is fully described in
Section 4.3.16
.
4.6.7 Ethernet Diagnostics
This screen (fi gure 4.6.7) allows the user to test the status of the connection with a host computer, and if
the relevant option is enabled, the connections with local and remote Modbus or EtherNet/IP slaves. The
page is available to any access level with ‘Full Confi guration’ enabled in Security/Access confi guration
(
section 4.4.1
).

Host
Allows the IP address, or DNS Name of the host to be ‘Pinged’.
Ping Status
Indicates the latest status returned - see table 4.6.7, below, for details.

Operating this button causes an Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) command
to be sent to the host. If the host receives the message, it returns a message to the
sender within a few seconds.
Local Modbus Client Appears only if the Master Comms option is enabled. Indicates that the local Mod-
bus Master is connected.
Remote Modbus Client
Appears only if the Master Comms option is enabled. Displays the IP address of con-
nected Modbus TCP/IP clients. Otherwise ‘Offl ine’ is displayed.
