4.3.18 Demand Writes
DEMAND WRITE CONFIGURATION
Demand writes allow slave values to be written from the master by operator action (from the confi gura-
tion page), by job action, or (if the Screen Builder option is fi tted -
section 7
) by operation of a suitably
confi gured Operator key. Figure 4.3.18a shows a typical confi guration page. Modbus codes 6 and 16 can
be selected for this purpose - see
section 8.2.1
for code defi nitions.
Figure 4.3.18a shows a typical confi guration page for writing to a recorder. Figure 4.3.18b shows the Edit
Constant page. Figure 4.3.18c shows a confi guration page for the case where the destination is defi ned
as a register location.
WRITING TO A KNOWN DEVICE
Figure 4.3.18a shows the confi guration page for writing a value from the master unit to a ‘known’ slave
unit.
