7.4.4 Format of Measurement Data
Once initiated by computer control as previously described, ES601-US will transmit one or two lines of
ASCII text for each measurement completed during the test sequence. Two lines of data are sent for leakage
measurements (AC result, followed by DC result); for all other measurements ES601-US sends one line of
data. Each line of data is terminated with a carriage return
\r
(0x0D). Measurement data is separated into
fields by the comma character
,
(0x2C). This type of format is referred to as "comma-separated variables"
(CSV) and files containing such data are directly compatible with Microsoft® Excel.
The first field of the CSV data is a 3-character mnemonic which specifies the type of measurement
performed. Depending on the type of measurement, the acceptance limit specified in the standard may be
included in the data, and if so, the last field before the terminating carriage return

will be either a
P
(pass) or
F
(fail) character as appropriate.
