the keypad you wish to disable and use the
or
keys to set the enable
status to ―No‖.
To return the keypad to service use the same Installer Menu option and set the
enable status to ―Yes‖.
While the keypad is disabled the control unit ignores all signals from the
device, but retains the name and other programming allocated to the device.
The disabled keypad shows flashing red navigation pad LEDs (and will not
accept any user input).
All other keypads show an alert (navigation key LEDs glow red). When a user
reads the alert the display shows ―Tick to continue Disabled‖ and the device
number of the disabled keypad.
If a user tries to set the system the keypad display shows the same alert
message again, but will continue to set the system if the user presses

if you wish to replace a damaged or malfunctioning keypad with a new keypad,
but leave the old keypad‘s programming intact on the control unit, then use
the Installer Menu option
Detectors/Devices – Wired Keypads – Replace Keypad
.
When you use the Replace Keypad option the control unit disables the selected
keypad and retains the keypad‘s name and other programming. You can then
power down the system, disconnect the damaged keypad from the bus, and
reconnect a new keypad (of the same type) to the bus.
When you power up the control unit again, the remaining keypads will show an
alert that the old keypad has been disabled. Go into the Installer Menu and
select
Detectors/Devices – Wired Keypads – Replace Keypad
again. The keypad
display shows an ―Add‖ option for the replaced keypad. Select the ―Add‖ option
and then hold down the address request buttons on the new keypad. The
control unit will assign the bus device address of the keypad you removed to
the new keypad, along with the name and other programming from the old
keypad. The new keypad will not need any further programming.
Radio Keypads
The Radio Keypad is a transmitter that users can employ to set, unset and
silence alarms on the system remotely. The Radio Keypad is a transmitter
only, and does not display any system information. The LEDs on the Radio
Keypad glow to show that it is transmitting a signal.

1. When delivered from the factory radio keypads transmit four-digit
access codes. If you change the system to use six-digit access codes then
radio keypads will no longer function with access codes (they will still
function with prox tags). It is possible to change a radio keypad to
transmit six-digit access codes. See Appendix VI (page 209).
2. If the system uses a radio keypad the it will not comply with Security
Grade 3.
