LEAST COST ROUTING - 3/6 DIGIT
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This service feature allows the system to be programmed to route outgoing calls over the most eco-
nomical facility (Tie, C.O.). Based on the individual area code dialled (8 digit analysis), the system exam-
ines the programming tables and used the trunk facilities in the order specified.

OPERATING PROCEDURE
1. Lift handset; receive Dial Tone.
2. Dial access code; receive Dial Tone again.
3. Dial area code, office code and telephone number.
4. System automatically completes the call via the most economical route.
SERVICE CONDITIONS
1. LEAST COST ROUTING (LCR) can be programmed to choose the route based on the following crite-
ria:
a. Digits dialled (first 3 or 6 digits of the outside number).
b. Day of Week
c. Time of Day
d. Tenant number
e. Route Advance
2. In addition to selecting the route, the system can be programmed to:
a. Add up to 32 digits, in front of the number dialled by the station user, to allow for C.O.
b. Delete all digits, or up to 8 digits from the number dialled.
c. Allow or deny access to a specific trunk route based on the office code dialled.
3. All trunk routes in the system can be accessed via LCR (including, Tie, etc.). Restriction on outgoing
calls and code restriction assignments are followed.
4. The following programmable tables are available:
a. Digit Code Table - Up to 8 tables are available for assigning area codes, to be used by the system in
determining the routing to be selected. Although normally, area codes are assigned as 1 to 8 digit
codes. These codes can be assigned by Digit Code table, to select any other LCR table by number.
b. Route Pattern Table - Up to 256 tables are available to allow 4 entries for route advance. If more
than 4 entries for route advance is required, up to 8 entries can be available using 2 route pattern
tables.
c. LCR Pattern Table - Up to 256 tables are available to allow assignment of digits to be added or
deleted. This table can be used in conjunction with TOLL RESTRICTION assignment for com-
bined LCR/Toll Restriction capability (See Code Restriction).
