TRUNK ANSWER FROM ANY STATION (TAS)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This service feature allows any station, other than one with incoming restrictions, to answer incoming
calls when the system is in the night mode. With this feature activated, incoming exchange network calls
will activate a common alert signal at customer premises. By dialing a specified code, any station may
answer the call and then extend it to any other station by means of CALL TRANSFER - ALL CALLS.

OPERATING PROCEDURE
To answer a TRUNK ANSWER FROM ANY STATION (TAS) call:
1. TAS signal (bell, buzzer, etc.) sounds.
2. Lift handset; receive Dial Tone
3. Dial the specified TAS access code or depress the specified
TAS
key (if provided on D
term
).
4. Connection to the incoming call is completed.
SERVICE CONDITIONS
1. TAS indication will be activated for the following incoming calls:
•
Exchange Line Calls
•
Listed Directory Number (LDN) calls
•
Tie Line Calls (available only for operator calls).
2. TAS indicator can be provided on a per-tenant basis, and there can only be one per tenant.
3. This feature is sometimes referred to as “UNIVERSAL NIGHT ANSWER (UNA)”.
4. Individual stations may access to this feature via CLASS OF SERVICE - INDIVIDUAL.
5. NIGHT CONNECTION - FIXED/FLEXIBLE features can be used to assign a given C.O. Line to a
station user. TAS feature is not active when a C.O. Line is assigned NIGHT CONNECTIONS and the
night stations are not busy.
6. CALL TRANSFER - ALL CALLS: A station answering a call via the TAS feature will have access to
the transfer feature.
