Light
Windsor can have up to 4 light zones programmed. Only 2 types of circuit can be
programmed to operate in a light zone, Excalibur daylight (Exc-D) and Excalibur trigger (Exc-
T). Windsor area and light zones are independent. Each light zone has a programmable
TX output which can be controlled by a trigger circuit, a daylight level, manually, by a timer or
by an alarm event. A light zone output will only be turned off when all programmed
triggers are off.
To view or modify the light zone options either select option 8 from page 2 of the edit menus
or option 7 from page 1 of the user menus and then enter the light zone number. The test
option will not be displayed when the engineer access the Lights option in edit mode.

There are 7 light zone menu options.

Output
A light zone output can be programmed for any channel on devices 1-19. If the light zone
output is a relay on a mains switching unit (MSU) then the TX channel should be programmed
as channel 1 or 2. An MSU can be set to the same address as an existing concentrator. If
there is a concentrator at the same address then output 3 of the concentrator must be
programmed for TX data (the default). Outputs 1 and 2 of a daughter board fitted to the
concentrator with the same address as the MSU will then receive the same data as the MSU
relays. For more details on the MSU consult the installation manual. Any number of circuits
(and circuit types) can be programmed to trigger the light zone output(s) directly.

Operations
The light zone trigger will normally be an Excalibur external PIR sensor. The trigger line (blue
wire) of the Excalibur is connected to either terminal 3 of an EOL concentrator or terminal 2 of
a NEOL concentrator. For more details consult the installation manual. You can program a
switch or a different type of sensor as an Exc-T type. If you are connecting such a circuit to a
NEOL concentrator you must connect the alarm contacts to the tamper input. When the
tamper loop is open the Exc-T circuit will be considered in alarm. If the circuit is checked
(check/circuits) then the displayed state will be the state that an Excalibur sensor would be in
for the displayed pulse width.
An Exc-T trigger will only operate if the light zone is in night mode (the programmed zone light
level threshold has been crossed). When a light zone is triggered by an Exc-T circuit the
output will remain on for the programmed auto time.
