Comms menu

Tel. Line

To view or modify the telephone line options select option 3 from the comms menu.

Dial Type

The choices are pulse or DTMF. If you are unsure if your local exchange supports DTMF
dialling then program pulse.

Set Flt

Windsor will only allow an area to be set with a line fault present if the Set Flt option is on.

Lnft Warn

The normal line fault response includes an audible warning when unset. The audible response
can be disabled using the Lnft Warn option.

Lnft Enable

Normally a line fault must be present for  30  seconds  before  a  line  fault  is  recognised  by  the
control  panel.  This  delay  period  can  up  to  255  seconds.  If  a  value  of  0  is  programmed  then
line  faults  will  not  be  recognised.  Line  fault  disabling  is  only  recommended  in  installations
where the communicator is sharing a telephone line with other equipment which may be in use
for more than the maximum line fault delay (see also the handset option).

A Windsor modem can differentiate between a line fault and other equipment in use and, in
this case, there is no need to disable line fault monitoring under any circumstances.
