Common Area

One area in the system can be programmed as the common area. An area programmed as
the common area will be automatically set by Windsor if it is the last unset area and will be
automatically unset by Windsor if any area is unset. The common area setting mode

will be

the mode programmed for the common area on the keypad which was used for setting. If
setting was automatic (through the event programmer or a key circuit) then the common area
will be set instantly. A user does not need to have authority for the common area. To view or
modify the common area select option 6 from page 1 of the edit menus.

Instant

Help menu

Enter the common area number or 0 for no common area. The set mode for the common area
can also be programmed. For a list of setting modes press HELP.

1=Timed

There are 6 common area setting mode menu options.

2=Instant
3=PB
4=EnEx
5=EnEx/Tm

A typical application of the common area is a reception area which all users can access but no
individual user has the responsibility for setting. When the last user sets his/her individual area
the common area will be set by Windsor. Common Area sets and unset are identified
separately in the event log.
