Device
A device is a Windsor output port. A device can either be an ISB TX or Relay board, a
concentrator daughter board , the serial port, SmartDial or a plug on communicator. Data can
be sent to a device directly by programming a circuit or a system event to trigger an output. A
device can also be programmed as a mirror. Windsor will copy all channels from the
programmed primary to a Mirror device. Mirror devices may also be directly controlled by
specifying the mirror device number for a circuit or system event. The signals sent to a
device are normally positive applied. This can be changed to positive removed by
programming invert for the device number. Each device can also be programmed for auto
reset. If programmed for auto reset the device outputs will be cleared unconditionally after 10
seconds.
In the following example device 2 has been programmed as a mirror of device 1.

This process could be continued and another device could be programmed as the mirror of
device 2. All 3 devices would then receive the same data.
If an external daughter board is programmed for TX data and is fitted on a concentrator
with the same address as an ISB output card then the daughter board and the output
card will receive the same data without mirroring.

The main PCB in Windsor is designated Device 0. The device 0 channel functions are;

Mirroring device 0 would only be useful if you want a signal indicating when any area sounder,
strobe and audio output is on.
