Dorm
The Windsor dormitory feature can be used to reduce false alarms. This is achieved by
configuring circuits in one of two dormitories and only confirming an alarm after 2 separate
triggers. Only NA, ER and Fire type circuits may be put into a dormitory. Each area has two
dormitory timers SP1 (4 seconds) and SP2 (16 minutes). Dormitories only apply when an area
is set. If fire circuits are configured for dormitory operation it is advisable to program all fire
circuits in a separate area. If you fail to do this then a fire circuit can be confirmed by a NA type
circuit. A circuit can only be programmed for Dorm if it is not programmed for Beam pairing.
An alarm in a dormitory will disable alarms from circuits in the same area and dormitory during
the SP1 period. An alarm in the other dormitory during the SP1 period will confirm both
activations. An alarm in either dormitory during the SP2 period will also confirm both
activations. All dormitory activity is recorded in the event log. Only confirmed alarms are
recorded in the alarm log.
Cct Options
Verify Alm
NA, ER, EnEx and 24hr (when set only) circuits can be programmed as verified alarms. If two
verified alarm circuits alarm within the programmed time period (See Comms/Alarm
Comm/Verify Alm) then a verified alarm message will be transmitted. Verified alarms can be
signalled in ADEMCO fast, point ID or Guardall formats. Individual circuit responses can
optionally be signalled (See Comms/Alarm Comm/Verify Alm).
Cct Options
Beam
This option only applies to NA or ER type circuits. Beam pairing can only be selected if a circuit
is not in a dormitory. An alarm from a beam pair is only acknowledged if both configured
circuits are simultaneously in alarm. All single alarm activations from a beam circuit are logged
in the event log.
Cct Options
Det
Circuits programmed as Det (detector) can be tested automatically by Windsor (see Detector
program option).
Cct Options
Chime
Chime is not an edit function but is stored by Windsor as part of the circuit configuration.
Circuits types NA, ER, EnEx, Exc-T and PB may be configured for chime. If a circuit,
programmed for chime, alarms in the unset period an audible chime is given on all keypads in
the area and on the audio output. Chime may be programmed by an engineer, manager or
ordinary user.
Cct Options
Sys Set/Uns
This option only applies to entry exit circuits (EnEx) programmed for more than 1 area (in
versions prior to v3.00 this option only applies if the circuit is programmed for all areas).
