Enable
If user enable is programmed remote logons will only be possible if a user on site gives
authority (see user remote option).

Call Back
If call back is on, Windsor will not allow a remote logon but will always call back the host using
the programmed engineering telephone number.
If the RPS call back option is programmed Windsor will call the host if the main PCB I/P1
changes state. This would normally be connected to a STU RPS (return path signal) relay
output. This allows Windsor to connect to the host even when using an incoming calls barred
telephone line.

Ring Count
Windsor will answer an incoming call after the programmed number of rings. The ring count
range is 1-20. If a SmartComm is used the maximum ring count which should be programmed
is 6.

Dble Call
If the Windsor engineering communication device is sharing a line with another automatic
answering device (such as an answer phone) then the ring count for the other device should
be lower than the Windsor ring count. If programmed in this way Windsor will not answer the
first call but if a second call attempt is made within the programmed double call period
Windsor will answer the call on the first ring. The double call period can be programmed in the
range 0-255 seconds.

Auth Code
All remote connections can be authenticated by Windsor. If a host fails to give the correct
authentication code Windsor will terminate the call. After 4 successive authentication failures
Windsor will generate an authentication alarm (see comms/TX/system/Rmt Alm). No further
remote log on attempts will be allowed for 4 hour period or until a user enters a PIN code on
site. This feature complies with the BSIA downloading guidelines. You can use this option to
restrict the number of sites which can be controlled from a single PC by using different codes
for different groups of panels.
If the authentication code is 0 then Windsor will not use authentication. This will reduce the
time Windsor takes to make a connection and is useful if you are making a direct connection
to a PC running GCM. However you must ensure that the authentication code in GCM
matches the programmed authentication code for the panel.
Auth Code

0-255
The remote authentication alarm response is;
•
the Rem.Alm TX output is activated
•
the internal audio will be turned on when set or unset.
•
the event is logged as a Rmt.Auth Fail.
•
no further remote log on attempts will be allowed for 4 hour period or until a
user enters a PIN code on site.
