Windsor 500 Programming Manual - Issue C
- 40 -
If the PB option is on a key circuit will only give a response in the alarm condition. The actual
response will be dependant on the Set and Unset option. If, for example, only the Set option is
programmed then Windsor will attempt to set the programmed areas each time the key circuit
is in alarm.
Cct Type
Log On
The activation of a Log On circuit is to log "user 2" onto the programmed keypad (without
the use of a PIN code). A logon circuit will be ignored if the programmed keypad is busy
or if an engineer is on site. Log On circuit alarms are logged as "EAC Log On". The
abbreviation EAC is short for Electronic Access Control and this circuit type would typically be
triggered by an access control system output. This would allow an access system user to log
on to Windsor without knowing a Windsor PIN code.
This type of circuit response is not required when interfacing Windsor to an INOVA
Cardpoint.

Area
Exc-D, Exc-T, Log On and PB types are not in any area. All other circuit types can be
configured for any combination of areas. If a circuit is programmed for more than 1 area
13
it will
not give a response unless all of the programmed areas are set. It is not recommended that
circuits with a 24 hour response are programmed in more than 1 area. An alarm from a
multiple area circuit will be logged in all programmed area alarm logs.
Cct Options
TX/Dev
If a circuit type has a TX response you can program a channel in the range 1-8 and a device
number 0-19. If you want all alarm circuits to trigger a common intruder channel (see
comms/TX/area/Set Alm, Uns Alm) you do not need to program the individual circuit TX/Dev
option but you can still program an alarm circuit to trigger a local output if required. Circuits
programmed as 24Hr can have separate set and unset TX responses programmed.
If you are using a communicator which is not using ADEMCO fast format (e.g. SmartDial
with point ID) it is not necessary to program individual circuit outputs for the
communicator. You can still program these outputs if you require a local indication in
addition to the communicator trigger.
Cct Options
Group
Some circuit types are bypassable. A bypassable circuit can be programmed for any
combination of the 6 bypass groups (4 in previous versions). Groups can be bypassed
manually by a user or by the event programmer. Windsor will ignore alarms from bypassed
circuits.
