Conc
All circuits in a Windsor system are connected to an internal or external concentrator. All
concentrator types have 8 circuit inputs. Up to 16 concentrators may be connected which gives
Windsor a maximum circuit capacity of 128 circuits. Internal and external concentrators can be
used in any combination in a Windsor system. Three types of concentrator may be connected.

Each concentrator has eight input circuits which are individually identified by Windsor. The
input circuit states recognised by Windsor are dependant on the concentrator type.

The minimum circuit response time is approximately 200mS. The actual response time will
depend on the number of configured concentrators, the concentrator type and when the circuit
alarm takes place relative to the circuit clock period on the synchronous concentrator bus.

External NEOL concentrators should not be used on systems with more than 8
concentrators if compliance with BS4737 is required.
If an internal and external concentrator with the same address are connected the
external concentrator inputs are ignored. More than one concentrator can be set to the
same address if the data line is not connected. This can be used, in conjunction with
fitted daughter boards, to build a mimic panel indicating the alarm status of all circuits.

To view or modify a concentrator configuration select option 1 from page 2 of the edit menus
and then enter the concentrator number.
