Windsor 500 Programming Manual - Issue C
- 57 -
If you have managed reset programmed the bottom line of the display will show a random
reset code. When an engineer reset is required the area “Call Eng” TX output will be active.
The engineer reset condition can be cleared by;
•
An engineer log on
•
A reset PIN code (one shot only)
•
A managed reset PIN code (one shot only)
•
An engineer reset circuit alarm.
If PA engineer reset is programmed then any PA or duress alarm when set or unset will require
an engineer reset. If the tamper unset reset option is on then all tamper alarms in the unset
condition will require an engineer reset.

Auto Rst
Windsor can automatically reset the alarm latches at the end of the programmed sounder
period. If the alarm condition is clear the latch will be cleared and the programmed TX channel
will also be cleared. If the alarm condition is not clear Windsor will attempt to reset at one
minute intervals until the alarm is reset, the area is unset or another alarm occurs in the same
area. Circuits which fail to auto reset will be logged once per hour.
Auto reset only applies to set alarms. Not all types of alarm are classified as auto resetable. If
the Euro reset option is on then the programmed TX channel will always be cleared. The area
audio output(s) will remain on until the area is auto reset successfully. Only NA, 24Hr, ER,
circuits on Soak, fire circuits (if Windsor is programmed for Fire reset) and entry route alarms
are auto resetable. There is a programmable auto reset TX output for each area. This output
will be turned on if a circuit fails auto reset and will remain on until the area is successfully
reset or unset.

Bank Rst
The bank reset option is only available in HS variants. If bank reset is programmed for an area
then it can be reset without unsetting the area. This is useful when the Windsor event
programmer prevents unsetting outside the scheduled times. A user who is authorised for
bank reset (see user authorities) must first view or print the alarm log before a reset is allowed.
Bank reset only applies to NA, 24Hr, ER, PA and tamper alarms. If a bypassable circuit is not
clear when the user selects bank reset then the circuit will be automatically bypassed.
