3. Connect the intrusion switch cable to the connector on the system board.

After installing the Intrusion Switch ensure the following:

1. Install internal PERC riser.

2. Follow the procedure listed in

This describes the procedure to install and remove the Drives.

Removing a Drive Blank

Follow the safety guidelines listed in

Safety instructions

If installed, remove the front bezel.

CAUTION: To maintain proper system cooling, drive blanks must be installed in all empty
drive slots.

CAUTION: Mixing drive blanks from previous generations of PowerEdge servers is not
supported.

Follow the below steps to remove the Drive Blank:

1. Press the release button, and slide the drive blank out of the drive slot.

After removing the Drive Blank ensure the following:

1. Install a drive or Installing the hard drive backplane.
