A/C COMPRESSOR
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
Refer to the figure as given below when removing and installing A/C compressor.
After installing, be sure to check and adjust drive belt tension, referring to BELT TENSION INSPECTION in Section
6H and A/C COMPRESSOR DRIVE BELT INSPECTION under DIAGNOSIS.
1. Thermal switch
2. Compressor
3. O-ring
4. Lip type seal
5. Front head
6. Clutch coil
7. Compressor pulley
8. Circlip
9. Circlip
10. Armature plate
Tightening torque
(a) : 23 N·m (2.3 kg-m, 16.5 lb-ft)
(b) : 50 N·m (5.0 kg-m, 36.0 lb-ft)
(c) : 10 N·m (1.0 kg-m, 7.5 lb-ft)
INSPECTION
Check pressure plate and rotor for wear and oil soaked condi-
tions respectively.
Check clutch bearing for noise, wear and grease leakage.
Measure stator coil for resistance at 20 C.
Standard Resistance: 2.9 – 3.8
If the measured resistance does not remain within above toler-
ance, replace coil.
Use an ohmmeter to check thermal switch for continuity.
If it is no continuity, replace it.
