DTC C1141/C1142/C1143/C1144/C1145 MOTOR CIRCUIT FAIL
1. To main fuse
2. Ignition switch
3. “EPS” fuse (30A) in fuse box
4. “IG METER” fuse (15A) in fuse box 5. P/S control module
6. Motor and clutch
7. Connector “A”
8. Connector “C”
CAUTION:
Be sure to perform SYSTEM CHECK FLOW TABLE before starting diagnosis according to flow table
of each DTC.
STEP ACTION YES NO
1 1) Remove steering column lower cover.
2) Check proper connection for 4-pin (“B”) connector
to P/S control module.
3) If OK, start engine.
4) Check voltage between “B1” terminal and body
ground and “B2” terminal and body ground with
“B” connector connected to P/S control module.
5) Are they 5 – 7 V with steering wheel held at posi-
tion for vehicle to run straight?
Go to STEP 2. Repair poor connec-
tion, high resistance,
open or short to power
circuit or ground in
“B1” or “B2” circuit.
2 1) Check motor and its circuit. Refer to ON-VE-
HICLE INSPECTION of MOTOR AND CLUTCH.
2) Is motor in good condition?
Substitute a known-
good P/S control mod-
ule and recheck.
Replace motor and re-
check.

Upon completion of inspection and repair work, repeat SYSTEM CHECK FLOW TABLE to confirm that the
trouble has been corrected.
