Connecting the V
DC
voltage supply
In the case of a DIB-500 R4.1 with V
DC
voltage supply, the voltage supply is connected
directly via the corresponding terminal on the connection panel.
The procedure for connecting the voltage supply is described in the following.
Proceed as follows to connect the voltage supply cable:
The connection points for the voltage supply are in the connection panel, refer to Fig-
ure 5.3 on page 83, in the upper part of the equipment rack.
Preparation:

The site must be prepared in compliance with the document "Site Requirements“.
✓
The equipment rack must be connected to the grounding system.
✓
A voltage source in the form of a voltage supply connector or an uninterruptible
power supply (UPS) is available.
✓
The voltage source on site must be switched off.
✓
The toggle switches must be set to the "Off" position ("downward" switch position).
✓
The top cover of the equipment rack must have been removed.
Network and hardware component grounding
Network and hardware components are grounded through a grounding cable connected
to the connection panel. This grounding cable must be connected according to the
grounding of the respec-tive power supply source when connecting the supply lines of
the power supply.
