5.7.1
Tools and aids
The following tools and aids are required for the software update and the configuration:

Network cable ("straight-through" Ethernet cable)

Serial cable (1:1)

5.7.2
Preparatory measures
Before you can begin, you must first take the following preparatory measures:

Switching on the voltage source
|
Switching on the equipment rack
|
Connecting the service computer
– Connecting the service computer (serially)
– Connecting the service computer (Ethernet)
5.7.2.1
Switching on the voltage source
Before the product can be switched on, the voltage source must be switched on. The
procedure for switching on the voltage source depends on the circumstances at the
respective installation site.
The procedure for switching on the voltage supply is described in the following.
Proceed as follows to switch on the voltage source:
Preparation:

The equipment cabinet must be connected with the grounding system of the volt-
age source at the installation site.

The antennas must be connected.
✓
The external alarms must be connected.
Carry out the following steps:

Switch on the voltage source via the corresponding equipment at the installation
site.
✓
The procedure for switching on the voltage source has been completed.
5.7.2.2
Switching on the equipment rack
The product is switched on via an on/off switch in the upper part of the equipment cabi-
net. After the power supply is turned on, all connected network and hardware compo-
nents start up automatically. Connections will be enabled. After about three to five
minutes, all network and hardware components have started up and are ready for oper-
ation.
