4.4 Connecting equipment racks (as of 5 carriers)
For variants with five or more carriers (hybrid and cavity) two equipment racks are used
equipped with a total of three or four TIB modules and two ACS. Upon delivery, the TIB
modules and ACS installed in the two equipment racks are not yet connected. This con-
nection must first be established. The procedure for connecting the equipment racks (A
and B) is identical for the hybrid and cavity variants.
The following work steps must be performed to connect equipment racks (with five or
more carriers):

4.4.1
Removing the top cover of the equipment rack
To perform work in the equipment rack, the top cover of the equipment rack has to be
removed.
The following tools and aids are required for removing and installing the top cover:

Phillips head screwdriver size PH2
|
Coin to unscrew/tighten the fastening screws of the equipment cabinet top cover
Removing the Transport Lock
In the condition as supplied to the customer, a transport lock is installed between the
mounting frame and the upper cover of the equipment rack, retained by the upper cover
of the equipment rack. This transport lock must be removed prior to/while commission-
ing the product/system.
The transport lock can be removed after the upper cover of the equipment rack has
been removed. Keep the transport lock in a safe place, you may need it again for trans-
ports later on.
The procedure for removing the top cover of the equipment rack is described in the fol-
lowing.
Proceed as follows to remove the top cover:

Carry out the following steps:
Consumables
Keep all the consumables such as fastening screws in a safe place. You will need them
again.
