Installation
Installing equipment racks
Transporting equipment racks later on
Note that equipment racks may only be transported in upright position (e.g. using a lift
truck) or with the optionally available hoisting eyebolt kit. When transporting an equip-
ment rack, e.g. on a lift truck, it must be seated on all the levelling feet.
For this reason, we recommend setting up the device cabinets of the product directly at
the intended installation site.
Proceed as follows to set up an equipment cabinet:
Preparation:
✓
The location must be prepared to meet on-site requirements.
✓
At least two persons are required to set up the equipment cabinet.
✓
You may require an appropriate means of transport, e.g. a lift truck.
Carry out the following steps:
When transporting equipment racks in upright position without any additional
lateral safeguarding, the moment of tilt during transport may cause damage to
the product.
➔
Secure the equipment rack with tightening straps on the sides before transporting
the equipment rack, e.g. with a lift truck.
1. Place the equipment cabinet - which may consist of multiple equipment cabinets -
horizontally on the floor of the service room. Use appropriate means of transport for
this purpose.
Using transport equipment
When using transport equipment, ensure that all the clamping devices of the transport
equipment and safeguardings at the sides are firm during transport and cannot move.
After transport, release the clamping device and safeguardings used.
2. Slide the two claws for floor anchorage underneath the levelling feet up to the stop
with the edges facing down.
Aligning the floor anchorage claws
Attach the floor anchorage claws diagonally (e.g. front LH side and rear RH side) to the
bottom of the equipment cabinet to ensure utmost protection against tilting.
3. Fasten the claws to the floor.
4. If required, secure the equipment cabinets against tilting through additional means,
e.g. by screwing them to a wall.
✓
The installation is complete.
