Mounting the LRU (optional, variants with redundancy package only
– depending on the delivery status)
For variants with redundancy package (hybrid and cavity) a LAN switch (LAN routing
unit, LRU) is additionally used optionally to connect the two equipment racks, i.e. the
TIB modules installed in the racks.
To prevent damage during transport, this LAN switch is not yet in its intended position
on the connection panel upon delivery. The connection panel features a top hat rail so
that the LRU and the related top hat rail power supply unit can easily be mounted on the
connection panel of the second equipment rack (B) through a click mechanism.
Definition of the equipment racks (A and B)
With eight carriers (four TIB modules), you can select any equipment rack for installing
the LRU. Your selection will define this equipment rack as rack B. We recommend mark-
ing the equipment racks accordingly. If you are using an odd number of TIB modules,
the equipment rack with two TIB modules will automatically be equipment rack A.
The components are mounted on the top hat rail of the connection panel.
Figure 4.6 shows the top hat rail with the LRU installed. The corresponding table
describes the components in greater detail.
Figure 4.6 LRU on the top hat rail
The following work steps are required for retrofitting the LRU:
|
Installing the left top hat rail end bracket
|
Establishing the voltage supply of the LRU
– Connecting the voltage supply of the top hat rail power supply unit
– Connecting voltage supply cables to the top hat rail power supply unit
