Maintenance 4-17
Aquastorm 200
3
If deionized water is used in the final rinse
section, it is usually not necessary to
descale the spray manifolds and spray
nozzles in this section. Deionized water
generally should not produce mineral
deposits or scale build-up. However,
leaching out of the anions, cations and
carbon beds from the DI system can cause
clogging of the spray nozzles and spray
manifolds. In this case, replacement of
these parts is required.
CAUTION
The formation of scale deposits on the
immersion heaters will reduce the heat
transfer capability to the surrounding
solution in the tank, which leads to
premature burn out of the immersion
heaters.
CAUTION
The formation of scale deposits on
and around the liquid level float
switches will obstruct or reduce
movement of the float mechanism,
which leads to malfunction of the float
switch operation.
WARNING
Highly concentrated solutions of
descaler may cause skin and/or eye
irritation. Consult the descaler
manufacturers' Material Safety Data
Sheets (MSDS) for appropriate
protective clothing and safety
instructions.
NOTE
Dispose of the waste material
properly and in accordance to local
safety regulations pertaining to
the handling of descaling waste
products. Consult descaler
manufacturers' Material Safety
Data Sheets (MSDS) for
instructions.
4
If inspection warrants descaling of your
system, obtain any commercially
available descaling solution from your
local supplier.
This material should be chemically
compatible with your system and process.
To descale the system tanks the following
instructions apply.
5
Ensure that the wash and rinse pumps;
chemical isolation pump or external feed
fill solenoid, are deactivated prior to
performing any of the steps that follow.
The following indicators are
NOT
illuminated to indicate that the pumps
or solenoids are off.
Wash Hurricane indicator
Rinse Hurricane indicator
Chemical Isolation pump/ solenoid
indicator
6
Remove the rear access panels, tank lids
and basket assemblies from each of the
applicable sections.
7
Skim off any residue floating on the
water's surface inside each of the tanks.
8
Drain the tanks by pressing the respective
Drain
controls via the membrane
keypad to activate the drain solenoid
valves located on the under side drain
plumbing.
NOTE
If Deionized water is being used
in the final rinse section,
DO
NOT USE TAP WATER TO
RINSE THE FINAL RINSE
SECTION
. Rinsing with tap
water will contaminate the process
in DI applications.
9
Thoroughly rinse each of the wet sections
with clean water. Ensure all surfaces and
interior components are rinsed, removing
all descaling solution.
