Example of calculations for high and low detergent concentrations:
Given: The inlet water pressure is 30 psia {207 kPa} Viscosity of the detergent being used is 75.
Maximum concentration will be achieved using #16 nozzle with metering screw fully open
Max. detergent concentration percentage =
with given detergent and psi
.52 gpm (max. injection rate from table 2)
8.2 gpm (#16 nozzle at 30 psi flow rate from table #1
= .063 = 6.3 %
Minimum concentration will be achieved using #18 nozzle with metering screw turned all the way in.
Min. detergent concentration percentage =
with given detergent and psi
048 gpm (min. injection rate from table 3)
15 gpm (#18 nozzle at 30 psi flow rate from table #1
= .003 = .3 %
By changing the nozzles and adjusting the metering set screws in this application, the customer could achieve
detergent concentrations varying from .3 % up to 6.3 %. If a detergent with a different viscosity were used, the
concentrations would change accordingly.
For concentations greater than those available with standard nozzles, contact the factory for quotations.
NOTE
For concentrations greater than
those available with standard
nozzles, contact Electrovert
Technical Support for quotations.
SECTION 4
DETERGENT INJECTION SETUP
4.1
DETERGENT INJECTOR
SPECIFICATIONS
Detergent injection flow rates are based on the
viscosity of the detergent being used, input water
pressure, and the injector nozzle being used.
4.2
DETERGENT INJECTOR
FEATURES
•
Automatic liquid detergent feed assembly
with a stainless steel input filter.
•
Metering screw for flow adjustment.
•
Three (3) size nozzle bushings (#16, 17,
18) are supplied for use on the input line,
making possible a variety of flow rates
based on detergent properties, and water
pressure.
Refer to the table below "Detergent Injection
System Flow Data" for configurations.
