10 Install the replacement heater taking
caution not to cross thread the heater
threads in the PVC coupling.
Wrap the threads of the immersion heater with Teflon ® tape
with two (2) to three (3) layers, covering all threads

Slide the replacement Immersion Heater into
threaded coupling - DO NOT cross thread!

Apply fresh silicone directly over the

tape, covering all threads

9 Apply fresh silicone directly over the
wrapping of Teflon® tape, covering all of
the threads of the immersion heater
CAUTION Use caution when installing the screw
type immersion heater into the PVC
threaded coupling so as not to cross
thread the fitting. Stripping of the
threads will result in a need to replace
the PVC coupling in the bulkhead wall.
8 Wrap Teflon® tape around the threads of
the replacement immersion heater. (See
Figure - ?)
Wrap at least two (2) to three (3) layers
of Teflon® tape around all of the threads
of the immersion heater.
