7. TROUBLESHOOTING IMAGE FAULTS/MALFUNCTIONS

• Check the detail code of ‘E040’ using ‘JAM/ERR’ under ‘DISPLAY’ in service mode.

Checks
Is the up/down movement of the lifter
of the multifeeder smooth? (See the
descriptions on how to release the
lifter.)
Is the lifter sensor (PS2, PS3)
normal? (See the instructions on how
to check photointerrupters.)
Turn OFF the power switch, and
disconnect the connector J2239 from
the DC controller PCB. Set the meter
to the X100
Ω
range, and measure
the resistance between the following
terminals on the motor side. Is it
about 60
Ω
?
J2239B-5 and J2239B-6
Yes/No
NO
NO

Action
Check the drive gear and
the lever.
Check the lever and the
wiring; if normal, replace
the sensor.
Check the wiring from the
connector to the motor; if
normal, replace the motor.
Replace the DC controller
PCB.
