Scalar AIT 440/480
Setting other configuration options
After setting the SCSI IDs and LCD security, you may need to set or
check the following configuration options before putting your library
into operation:
S
SCSI parity checking for the library
S
LCD contrast
S
LCD back light
S
Library date
S
Library time
S
Library serial number
S
Tape drive model
Setting SCSI parity checking
The SCSI Parity option allows you to enable parity checking for the
library if the SCSI adapter card connected to the library supports it. When
this option is enabled, the library checks all data coming across the SCSI
bus for parity. The setting you specify remains in effect across power
cycles.
Note:
Parity checking can also be enabled and disabled by the
application software using a SCSI MODE SELECT command.
The method last used to set parity checking (LCD or SCSI
command) has precedence.
Parity checking for tape drives is set separately. See the tape
drive's SCSI Reference for more information.
