Scalar AIT 440/480

Installing the library hardware

This section provides step-by-step instructions for installing the library
hardware. Use the following table as a checklist.

Step

Description

If you have a rack-mount model, install the library into a
rack.

Unlock and open the door.

Remove the packing foam.

Move the CHM.

Prepare and install cartridges in magazines.

Install the magazines in the library.

Install a cleaning cartridge.

Close and lock the door.

Connect the library to the SCSI bus.

Connect the power cord.

Power on the library.

WARNING!

Before performing any installation or maintenance
procedures, be sure that the library power switch is in
the off position and that the power cord is disconnected
from the library and the outlet.
