CHECKING THE BRAKE LININGS
WARNING!
DANGER OF GETTING CAUGHT IN MOVING PARTS OF THE MACHINE.
POTENTIAL CRUSHING OR SHEARING OF THE LIMBS.
POTENTIAL SERIOUS INJURIES OR DEATH.
Before checking the brake linings:
•
Keep in mind all the basic safety rules contained in the chapter “GENERAL SAFETY REGULATIONS”.
Do maintenance work only with the machine off and all the moving parts completely still:
•
Always turn off the tractor and remove the keys from the dashboard.
•
Always switch off the control system.
•
Never raise the machine from the ground.
•
To avoid accidents caused by unexpected movements, firmly place the machine on firm, flat and
horizontal ground, and that it is blocked (chocks under the wheels).
Every 500 operating hours (or every 8500 km traveled).
Check the state of wear of the brake lining gaskets.
Open both inspection windows located on the back of the brake and
check the thickness of the friction material outside the reference line.
The reference line must always be clearly visible and, for the
safety of the vehicle, the brake friction linings should be
replaced when the thickness of the material outside the line is
reduced to 2mm. Always use original friction linings of the
same type as those to be replaced.
The characteristics of the friction gasket are shown on the side
of the gasket itself in the area inside the reference line.
