1) Cut the ends of the belt at perfect right angles.
2) Position the clinching machine in the vice with the holes forward. Open the vice to the maximum.
3) Insert the rivets from the packet of clinches (fasteners) in the holes starting from the left side.
4) Two rivets of each clinch must be positioned in each hole.
5) Close the vice until the clinch touches the stopper leaving enough space to insert the belt.
6) Insert the belt in line with the marking (depending on the width of the belt and the number of clinches).
7) Hold the belt in position and strongly squeeze the rivets by closing the vice.
8) The belt must touch the rivets, closing the vice until it touches the surface of the belt.
9) Introduce the punch as far as the stopper in the left hole. To obtain a perfect riveted joint hit the punch three
more times with a hammer.
10) The rest of the riveting must be done from right to left. WARNING! The weight of the hammer must be
500÷800g.
11) Open the vice and remove the belt folding it slightly backwards.
12) Insert the successive clinches and position the belt on the first pin on the left to ensure the correct pitch and
continue clinching in the same way.
13) Hammer all the rivets on a flat base making sure not to crush the eyelets.
14) The desired width of the clinch pack can easily be obtained by simply twisting until it breaks.
15) Cut the protruding linking thread.
16) The method of clinching is the same for all belt widths.
17) Repeat the entire process on the other end of the belt remembering to clinch on the same side.
18) Make a diagonal cut of about 2cm leaving a border of 5mm from the clinches on both sides.
19) Connect the two ends of the belt and insert the little bar in the eyelets to ensure an exact joint.
20) When the two ends have been connected the external edges of the belt should be in line.
The arrow (figure 20) indicates the direction of movement of the belt in the machine.
IMPORTANT!
Take great care in mounting the belts on the machine; they must follow the direction of rotation as shown
in the figure “BELT PATHS”.
