WHEEL HUBS
CHECKING THE CLEARANCE OF THE BEARINGS
After the first 200 hours of operation at full load (or after the first 300 km traveled), subsequently every
1500 hours (or every 25000 km traveled).
Check that the wheel bearings have no clearance.
This check is performed by lifting the axle until the wheel is detached from the ground and turns freely.
WARNING!
DANGER OF MACHINE FALLING.
POTENTIAL CRUSHING OR SHEARING OF THE LIMBS.
POTENTIAL SERIOUS INJURIES OR DEATH.
The operation of lifting the wheels could be dangerous; be very careful in carrying out this operation
•
To avoid accidents caused by unexpected movements, firmly place the machine on firm, flat and
horizontal ground, and that it is blocked (chocks under the wheels.
Keep in mind all the basic safety rules contained in the chapter “GENERAL SAFETY REGULATIONS”.
The operation of lifting the wheels could be dangerous; be very careful in carrying out this operation
“LIFTING THE MACHINE BY MEANS OF THE CAR JACK”.
ADJUSTING THE CLEARANCE OF THE BEARINGS (VERSION WITH PRESSURE HUB COVER)
remove the hubcap;
remove the elastic pin of the crown nut;
tighten the crown nut by simultaneously turning the wheel until
the hub is slightly braked;
turn the crown nut until it meets a slot with the hole on the stub
axle and insert the elastic pin.
Check that the hub rotates by hand with moderate resistance.
Restore the Lithogrease 3 grease on the visible part of the
bearing and reassemble the pressure cap.
ADJUSTING THE CLEARANCE OF THE BEARINGS (VERSION WITH FLANGED HUB COVER)
remove the flanged hub cap by removing the 6 screws;
emove the elastic pin of the crown nut;
tighten the crown nut by simultaneously turning the wheel until
the hub is slightly braked;
turn the crown nut until it meets a slot with the hole on the stub
axle and insert the elastic pin.
Check that the hub rotates by hand with moderate resistance.
Restore the Lithogrease 3 grease on the visible part of the
bearing and reassemble the hubcap making sure that the
sealing gasket is intact. In case of damage, replace the gasket
