Chapter 2

Installing SmartPAC 2 and WPC

Prepare to Determine Top Stop Angle

1.

 

Make sure there is 

no

 connection to pin 13 on the WPC board.  This ensures that Top

Stop in Inch is ENABLED.

2.

 

On SmartPAC 2, go to Initialization mode (page 203).  Select PRESS CONTROL. Select
PRESS OPTIONS. Make sure switches 1, 2 and 4 are set to OPEN.  To change the switch
setting, highlight it and press ENTER to toggle between OPEN and CLOSED.  For more
information about the switches, see “Setting Switches,” page 242.

3.

 

Power down the SmartPAC 2 and power it up again to make the new switch settings take
effect.

4.

 

If your WPC has Micro-inch, disable this feature by setting the Micro-inch angle to 185

°

(see page 236).

5.

 

Set the Stroke Select keyswitch to INCH.

6.

 

If yours is a variable speed press, set the speed to the slowest production speed, but not
less than 6 SPM.

Go to the next section.
