Default Settings
The A
LYX
Component Collection System is shipped with
procedure parameters at the manufacturer’s default settings.
Manufacturer’s default settings that can be changed include:
•
Procedure date will be set to a MM/DD/YYYY format.
(Alternative: DD/MM/YYYY)
•
Unit for donor red cell qualification will be set to hematocrit,
with “ft” for height and “lb” for weight.
•
Maximum and default draw rate will be set at 100 mL/min.
(Input range: 50 to 100 mL/min)
•
Maximum and default return rate will be set at 130 mL/min.
(Input range: 20 to 130 mL/min)
•
The default setting for the pressure cuff will be 50 mmHg for
draw phases and 70 mmHg for venipuncture.
Other notable default settings include:
•
Anticoagulant is added to the donor’s incoming whole blood
at a ratio of 1 mL of anticoagulant to 11 mL of whole blood.
•
Saline is returned to the donor during the collection
procedure at a rate metered to maintain isovolemia minus the
amount used to clear the kit of residual blood components
during the final return phase.
•
Saline is used to clear the kit of residual blood components
during the final return phase. The system reserves an
appropriate amount of saline for the final return phase.
•
The amount of red cell preservation solution metered to the
red cell product is 1 mL of preservation solution to 2.1 mL
absolute red cells.
